ABOUT US
Turning Interest Into Action
Problems that occur in the community require individuals from all backgrounds who are willing to take risks to solve the issues that arise. The Purple Hippo emerged from the community in a pursuit to advocate and educate for those living with Alzheimer's. Established in 2020, we are an organization that is driven by bold actions, support, and most importantly, passion. As a youth-led non-profit organization, located in the GTA, we strive to inform those of the slowly progressive disease.
RAISING AWARENESS
With this initiative, our goal is to raise awareness for Alzheimer's to as many communities as possible by posting about Alzheimer's on our social media platforms. This allows future generations to become more aware of this common disease and understand the common symptoms, common struggles, and the life that those living with this disease have to bare. Also, by raising awareness especially on social media allows for the community to be widened by including those of the younger generation and as they will be our future doctors.
FUNDRAISING FOR ALZHEIMER'S RESEARCH
With Alzheimer's being such a common disease and those who are diagnosed with it increase every year, researchers have not found much information on it including cures, we strive to find new strategies for dealing with this challenge. As we, too support the Alzheimer's research, we will host events where any money made from it will go to Alzheimer's research. This ensures that those living with Alzheimer's in the future may receive possible treatments or be able to live as comfortably as possible.
